Language school news about the World Cup

Cape Town and the rest of South Africa is getting ready to host the FIFA World Cup. Tomorrow the 2nd of March marks 100 days before kick-off and a number of games will be played at Cape Town Stadium which is about 12 minutes walking distance from our English Language School in Cape Town. Accommodation will be at a premium during the time of the games but fortunately many institutions are making beds available. Below is a small article of what the University of Cape Town is doing to help with the success of the first World Cup to be played on African soil

"UCT to open doors for 2010
1 March 2010

The University of Cape Town (UCT) says it will become Africa's largest "accommodation hub" when it opens its doors to 2010 World Cup soccer fans.
It said on Monday that from June 9 its residences would become a home-from-home for thousands of visitors to the Mother City.
Head of UCT's 2010 task team John Simpson said UCT and its huge residence infrastructure were ideally placed for fans.
Guests would have access to the university's extensive shuttle system, which would transport visitors to and from the airport and Cup fixtures, as well as to entertainment and shopping
UCT's already comprehensive campus security system would be beefed up over the tournament.
Single rooms started at R550 per room per night excluding VAT.
A portion of the profits would be channelled into the university's endowment to support "socially responsive" projects."

If you have not yet booked your ticket for this historic event, don’t delay! Here is your opportunity to do an English language course in Cape Town and watch the games at the same time!

Greetings
